Our Institute’s Participation in the “University Wellbeing” Project to Serve Students’ Psychological Wellbeing

As part of ongoing efforts to prioritize the mental and social health of students, the representative of the Psychological and Social Counseling Center at Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute (M. Salman Mustafa Sidmina) participated in a special meeting for representatives of the psychological and social centers of universities and institutes across the Kurdistan Region.

This important meeting was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in coordination with the SEED Foundation, under the title of the “University Wellbeing” project.

The goal of this participation is to build greater coordination and exchange of expertise for better serving students and providing them with a calm environment. We hope that the results of this kind of project and meetings become an effective step toward giving greater attention to the psychological and social aspects of all students in Kurdistan in general, and the students of our institute in particular.

Practical Experience and Preparation for a Real Work Environment

In order to connect theoretical knowledge with practical skills, students of the (Office and Work Administration) Department, as part of the (Secretary and Office Management) course, carried out a successful field training session in the offices and halls of our institute (RTVI), under the supervision of course instructor (M. Tahir Shamsaddin).

This academic activity was a golden opportunity for students to directly become familiar with:

Carrying out the daily tasks and responsibilities of a secretary.
Office administrative procedures and modern methods of document management.
Building professional relationships in a real work environment.

At Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute, we always work to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical experience, so that our students, after graduation, are fully prepared to take leadership roles in the job market.

Talented student (Nian Ali) from the Cosmetology Department successfully led a special workshop on “Making Lip Gloss,” under the direct supervision of (Dr. Bawan Omar).

This workshop was a golden opportunity to:

Develop practical skills and combine science with hands-on expertise.
Encourage creative and innovative thinking in the field of cosmetology.
Raise students’ level of expertise for working independently.

At our institute, our main strategy is connecting our students’ abilities with the job market, so that in a short period of time they become owners of their own profession and creativity.

A Colorful Beginning for the Student Club

The first activity of the Student Club, called “Drawing Spring Activity,”

was held at the institute’s library.

The goal of this event was to provide a platform for students to express their ideas and perspectives through art and colors. The works created here have given our institute a unique beauty.

Thanks to our students for their participation, which became part of this beginning. This was only the first step — in the future, our platform will be open to all other interests and different talents as well.

A Delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education Visits Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute

Within the framework of overseeing educational centers affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ibrahim Rashid, Director of the Private Education Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with a supporting delegation, visited Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute.

The guest delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Salah Babakr, Principal of the Institute, and members of the Institute’s Council.

During the visit, the work of the Higher Examinations Committee, scientific laboratories, and classrooms were reviewed. The educational process and how academic affairs are conducted were closely monitored, and the Ministry’s delegation expressed appreciation to the institute’s staff for organizing and carrying out their work in the best manner.

Conducting a Scientific Seminar by the Arts Department of Raparin Civil Defense Directorate

With the aim of raising safety awareness levels and familiarizing the institute’s staff with procedures for dealing with unwanted incidents, our institute welcomed a field team from Raparin Civil Defense Directorate.

During their visit, an important awareness seminar was presented by the directorate’s arts department. The main topics of the seminar focused on how to control and extinguish fires scientifically, along with introducing the types of fire extinguishing equipment and how to use them correctly when needed.

These types of activities are part of our institute’s program for spreading safety awareness and preparing individuals to face sudden situations. We therefore express our gratitude and appreciation for the effort and visit of the Raparin Civil Defense staff.

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, Prof. Dr. Salah Babakr, Principal of Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Payman Ahmad, President of Raparin University, Mr. Shaho Shahid Mala Najm, General Manager of Raparin Investment, and Mr. Haji Khalid, Executive Manager of Rawez Company, welcomed His Excellency Dr. Aram Muhammad Amin, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Amanj Saeed, Advisor to the Ministry.

During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education highly valued the importance of vocational education and enriching the job market with skilled human resources, and stated:

“This model of education is a new, modern, and effective model of the Ministry for advancing the higher education sector and providing real employment opportunities for graduates in the job market.”

He also praised the key and effective role of Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute in this field.

During this same visit, a comprehensive discussion was held on several important academic and administrative topics, with the aim of further advancing the process of higher education and scientific research in the region.

A Thrilling Finale; Rojawa Team Becomes the Football Tournament Champion of the Institute

In a highly sporting atmosphere, the final match of the football tournament of Raparin Technical and Vocational Institute (RTVI) was held between the two teams (Rojawa) and (Pharmacy – Stage 1, Group A).

After an intense competition and the presentation of an exceptional level of play, the match ended with a result of (4 – 1) in favor of Rojawa team, making them the unrivaled champions of this season’s tournament.

At the end, by the respected institute principal and the administrative and academic staff, trophies and the championship cup were presented to the first and second place teams. Special awards and recognition were also given to the players who shined throughout the tournament and delivered a distinguished level of performance:
